Geared Up for the Upcoming 2010 reACT Campaign

reACT is going full speed ahead as we prepare to launch our newest

campaign, which focuses on ways in which Corporate Tobacco targets teens in Montana. They do it by watching everything teens do. They know what you watch on TV, what you think about, what you wear, who we look up to,

how we spend our time... they're basically obsessed with you. And they

do it because they need you to be replacement tobacco users. They want to addict you now so you'll keep feeding them money for the rest of your lives.

So watch out! They're always watching you!

Featured Alum: Bambi Erving

Bambi Erving spent three years on the reACT Core Team, promoting activism in her Plains, Montana high school, leading other reACTors in statewide initiatives, planning the annual reACT Teen Summit, and brainstorming and starring in reACT’s original TV campaign.

But what happens after graduation? Bambi took her die-hard attitude towards tobacco advocacy and set out on her own tobacco-free initiative. Bambi spent the summer after graduation promoting tobacco free policies at fairs and festivals. She learned a lot in the process, and is ready to hit it hard again next summer!

In Fall 2009, Bambi packed up and headed off to the University of Montana, where she now works with UM Health Services Tobacco Cessation and Prevention. And in October, she once again joined up with the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MTUPP) to speak at their annual Policy Summit. Bambi hosted an awards ceremony, and then shared her work with tobacco prevention and cessation advocates around the state.

Check back for updates on what Bambi’s up to next, plus tips on how to keep on reACTing after high school.
